Born in 1993, Zhong Chuxi (钟楚曦) studied dance before transferring to and graduating from the Acting Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
In 2013, Zhong started appearing in various TV series and films, before starring in “Youth,” a 2017 blockbuster by one of China’s leading directors. Her performance in this role won Zhong several awards as “best newcomer” in 2018, and she is considered one of the rising stars in the Chinese film industry. Aside from her acting career, Zhong is one of a small number of celebrities to embody the new Chinese beauty ideal of “gaojilian” or “noble face,” in which beauty is defined as much by personality and individuality as by natural features.
