Arabica coffee shrub

The coffee shrub is grown throughout tropical regions of the world and produces a fruit that, when ripe, contains two seeds which we know as coffee. The legend of the coffee shrub dates back to medieval times and tells of a Yemeni shepherd whose goats had been running off more than usual, who noticed they had been eating the seeds of a mysterious small tree. The shepherd was curious, prepared an infusion with the roots and discovered a delicious, refreshing drink with subtle aromas that would come to be universally known as coffee. For its healthy development, the small and delicate arabica coffee shrub needs to grow on high plateaus at an altitude of 800-1200m where temperatures do not fall below 15°C.
