The fruit's yellow, fibrous flesh has a delicious flavour, while its stone contains an edible kernel that produces a rich paste that thickens sauces. Vegetable oil can also be made by pressing the kernel. Mango oil is high in the fatty acid omega-9 and is used in cosmetics to protect the skin from dehydration and nourish and promote supple, comfortable skin.
