The power of plants
Today widely cultivated in tropical regions, aloe vera can be dated back to the time of the ancient Egyptians. It is said that Cleopatra attributed the secret of her legendary beauty to the plant. Research on the gel from the inner leaf has revealed softening, moisturizing and regenerating compounds. Thanks to its high content of compound sugars (polysaccharides) which encourage water retention in the epidermis, organic aloe vera is used for its moisturizing and soothing properties.

Responsible sourcing
Protecting the soil and biodiversity is a longstanding commitment at Clarins. That's why we have always prioritized plant-based active ingredients sourced from organic agriculture, grown using sustainable farming methods that respect nature and soil health. In addition, for certain plants like aloe vera, we practice multi-sourcing, meaning that we rely on both organic and non-organic extracts to ensure that the volume required for our products is met.
